Steps in the Right Direction

The steps in my journey,

Have not always been the best.

I have strayed from the path.

I have failed the test.

A step in the wrong direction,

May be hard to correct.

Something happened to my soul.

It had a temporary dis-connect.

As I started on this easy path,

I realized right away,

I was headed for a disaster.

I was going the wrong way.

A new path was made clear,

By my Father up above,

Where I feel His grace,

And His abundant love.

The tempting paths in life,

Can be a slippery slope.

It can leave you lifeless,

Lost and without hope.

There is always a path,

Where you can pass the plight.

Look toward your God.

Keep your eyes on His light.

Start to climb up higher,

On that mountain that seems too tall.

Hold onto our Creator,

To keep you from the fall.

Baby steps may be needed,

Before you learn to run.

Hold onto God’s grace.

Call out to God’s Son.

He will lift you up,

As if on eagle’s wings,

To a path of peace and glory,

A place where angels sing.

Psalms 37:23-27

23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.

Every day we have choices to make. Our choices will determine our future. Sometimes we do not make the best choices in life and find ourselves in a mess. Our God is merciful and will lead us out of our mess if we just call upon His name and ask Him for help. We should know when we are about to take the wrong steps. Our youth Pastor Chris says that the wrong steps always look good, are easy steps, and always seem harmless. When you get in a mess, just realize that God will help you out of the mess, but you have to take a step in the right direction.   ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
