Yesterday’s Manna

Yesterday’s manna,

Will not nourish you today.

Everyday has a new assignment,

So talk to your God and pray.

Every battle that you see,

May not be yours to fight.

It may ruin your every day,

And keep you awake at night.

When the apostles asked Jesus

To teach them how to pray.

He said go to the Father daily,

For what you need each day.

He will give you the tools,

To conquer them all.

The battles are His,

So you won’t take the fall.

He will guide your path,

But you must open your heart.

You must heed His call,

As He tells you when to start.

He will give you the means to finish,

The battles you start in His name.

Each battle is a new one,

And the manna is not the same.

He will supply your help daily,

You do not need to look ahead.

Don’t use yesterday’s manna.

Rely on your God instead.

Today is a brand new battle,

You will fight a brand new way.

God will supply new manna,

As you go to Him and pray.

Exodus 16:4

Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

God expects us to go to Him every day to ask Him to provide us with all of our needs. We should ask Him for direction every morning. Every time that David faced a battle, he would go to God and ask Him if the battle was his that day. Even if David had skills of a great warrior, and he knew how to plan attacks, he asked God first whether he should proceed or not. He did not step out into a battle without clothing himself with the armor of God and carrying a shield of faith.  He knew about the helmet of salvation. He knew that without God that he would fail and fall under the attacks of the enemy. David was a man after God’s own heart. He treasured the friendship he had with God and had an inner strength because of it. Go to God every day for your daily bread to deliver you from the evil one. Your help comes from the Lord.
