Leaning on God

Life is like a vapor,

That soon vanishes away.

We need God in our life,

While on earth we stay.

We need to lean on God,

Every day of our life.

To walk in confidence,

As we face turmoil and strife.

We need God to lead us,

And not wander out on our own.

We are a temporary vapor,

That is meant for a final home.

Our real home is in heaven.

We are just passing through.

So we need to do it well,

So we must depend on You.

We can step into the promised land,

He wrote it down for us to read,

He has supplied the tools,

For each of us to succeed.

When we lean on God,

We will find a trust and rest.

When you walk with the Father,

You will always do your best.

It is not because of,

Anything that you can do.

It is because the Almighty One,

Is living inside of you.

James 4:!5

5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? 6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

We are, by nature, “one-minded”. We are selfish and consumed with the thoughts about “what can that do for me”?  Jesus asks us to go to our inner most depths of our soul to use His mind and His heart to direct our paths. It is hard to get past things on the surface, but that is what He asks us to do each day. We need to walk, talk and act like Him. We want to attract other people to Him. He will do the work, but we need to dig deep into our souls each day, so that we can do our walk better.
