Sweet Rest

Another day is coming,

If we learn to rest first.

Our God will provide food,

He will quench our thirst.

Our God starts to work,

When we rest in His grace.

He knows what is ahead of us.

He is aware of what we face.

His vision is eternity,

As we fret about today.

He is our loving Shepherd.

He will lead the way.

A bird sitting on the limb,

Is not stressed out for tomorrow.

He deals with life for the moment.

He has no worry or sorrow.

How much more then,

Does your Father love you?

He can provide your peace,

In everything you do.

Rest in His Word,

And believe in His love.

You have a loving Father,

Who is watching from above.

Trust in Him to provide,

Everything you need.

He will cover your life,

Because He is God, indeed.

He is the Creator of it all.

There is nothing He can’t do.

Accept His love today.

And His grace will show through.

Hebrews 4:1-8

1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

When we are rushing around in life and trying to solve all the problems we face, we can save ourselves a lot of grief, if we learn to rest in God’s peace. That does not mean that we sit back in life and do nothing, but we need to try to lessen our worry and strife, by the assurance that God is watching over us. There is just so much we can do toward our own satisfaction. Living a life with God should give us some peace about our future. Rest in His mercy and grace. He will take care of you, from birth to the grave and beyond, if you love and serve Him.
