The Lens of My Soul

I see things differently,

Through the lens of my soul.

I have been set apart by God.

I can see things as whole.

I do not focus on brokenness,

But look at each special part.

God made everything perfect.

As a vision from His heart.

His vision came into perfection,

The day that you were made.

You are not a clump of clay.

That is not where you stayed.

You have a special personality.

You have a special look.

You are a masterpiece,

Made for God’s special book.

It is the “Lambs Book of Life”.

There is a place for you there.

Jesus gave His life for you,

Because of the love He shares.

Everyone cannot see,

Just what you have inside.

You have a special filter,

That is not meant to hide.

You may have some flaws,

But God can erase them all.

You have been made perfect,

Because our Jesus took the fall.

He took all the ugliness,

And the stench of your sin.

You have been made righteous,

And through Him you can win.

Isaiah 57:15

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Colossians 3:2

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Matthew 6:33

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Christians look at things differently. They are looking through a new lens. They are not looking with their eyes, but they are seeing with their souls. Some people would call it “rose-colored glasses”. They may be scoffing at your vision, but in reality, they are curious about how it feels to walk in reassurance and in peace. They may see someone as bad and you see that same person with tenderness and hope. They may be frightened by the darkness of the night, and you feel a comfort in the peace and quiet. They may see things as the end and you see it as a new beginning. You have a different set of eyes, because you see with your soul, which is inhabited by God’s Holy Spirit. He will make your dark days, light. He  is the change of the lens that you look through.
