Back to Father’s House
How did I get here? Why is my life a mess?
I loved my life without restraint, But I feel I have failed the test.
How did I get broken, When My God made me whole?
I am ashamed of who I am. Sin has darkened my soul.
I left the safety of my Father’s house.
I made the decision to leave.
Now I have to accept the consequence, And realize I’ve been deceived.
That is Satan in action. He has broken my life.
I have accepted his lies, That led me to fear and strife.
I can turn this life around, By returning to my Father above.
He has infinite mercy and grace. He has an abundance of love.
Ii was not meant to be broken, But was made perfect and whole.
The Creator of the Universe, Is the lover of my soul.
I am going to climb out of,
This pit of despair I’m in.
I will ask for forgiveness,
And redemption from my sin.
I know a safe haven,
I know which way to run. I will go back to my Father, And be redeemed by the Son.
Luke 15: 18-24
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
This scripture is written in red, meaning it was the Words of Jesus. He taught us in parables or stories that were easy for us to relate to. This scripture about the prodigal son is familiar to most Christians and we rely on the love of our Father and His forgiveness to get us back to a better life, when we have messed us. It shows us how gracious and merciful that God is and the love that He wants to shower on His children. We no longer need to stay in the pit of despair, because Jesus went to the cross to forgive us of our sins and bring us back to the Father’s house.
