Doing What is Right

Doing what is right,

May cause us some pain.

Doing what is wrong,

May cause us to gain.

Doing God’s Word,

Will cause us to win.

Doing what is wrong,

Will lead us to sin.

There are many good people,

Living here on earth,

That will not go to heaven

Because they had no re-birth.

They were not infused by the Spirit.

They were not washed by His grace.

They can still be good-doers,

Without seeking His face.

They are still sinful creatures.

Sin was passed down from Adam.

They have to ask for forgiveness,

And seek the Great “I AM”.

Jesus died for every sin,

Of the past and future too.

God loves us so much.

He sent His Son for you.

It takes more than being good.

It takes more than doing what’s right.

We have to be washed in the blood,

To be righteous in God’s sight.

James 1:22 –

22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. 26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Galatians 6:5-10

5 For every man shall bear his own burden. 6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Doing good is not always easy, but doing good feels right. Usually doing good is guided by the Holy Spirit (Jesus residing in us). A person who has accepted Jesus into their heart and their soul, wants to be led by God to do good. It is not for “show”. Actions that are good usually reveal what a person feels inside. They have a peace and joy within them that needs to be shared. Sin or doing wrong, is the easier path to take and it satisfies the human flesh. It feels good for a moment, but it does not help anyone gain eternal life. If we really want to do good, then we should represent all that Jesus taught us as He walked on this earth. Doing good does not guarantee a place in heaven. Being saved does. Being saved makes us want to do good, because Jesus is Love and if He is in us, love flows from us.
