Nothing or Everything

Nothing by Myself,

But everything with Him,

Beautiful in His eyes,

Freed from my sin.

Man started as perfect,

The “Apple of God’s eye”.

Made to be happy.

Never meant to cry.

Made to fill paradise,

Free of all care,

The best of God’s work,

Meant to share.

A sharer of God’s Word,

An example of God’s grace,

Never meant to hurt others,

Never meant for disgrace.

Made from the dirt,

More beautiful than a flower,

Never meant to work,

But to enjoy every hour.

Then sin entered earth,

And took that all away.

Now to live in struggle,

Facing hardship day by day.

Corruption from perfection,

How could that possibly be?

Then came God’s perfect Son,

To set God’s best creation free.

Jesus opened up a path,

That every man can take,

But still a free agent,

Free to make mistakes.

Choose beauty for ashes.

Choose the Creator of your soul.

Man’s mistakes can be covered,

Made complete and whole.

Genesis 1:26 -27

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Think of all the beautiful things on the earth and realize the majesty of the solar system with the sun, the moon and the stars. God did it all, the vibrant colors and the unique shapes and sounds of everything. Then He decided to share all of this with His best creation. He made a creation with a soul and a spirit and put a fleshly body around all of that uniqueness and called it “MAN”. When He was done He said, “It is GOOD”.  He loved His creation so much that when it became corrupt with sin, He sent His only Son as a sacrifice to save this special creation. Man once again, has an opportunity to shine in God’s eyes, and to be all that He created us to be.
