What’s It Worth

Greed can destroy a family.

It can ruin your life.

Generosity can change things,

And lessen daily strife.

When things are more important,

Than talking to God above.

Things can block true happiness.

Greed can push away love.

Enjoy what you have daily,

But don’t crave for so much more.

Don’t ask for money miracles.

Life has other things in store.

Don’t covet your neighbor’s goods.

But look for God’s plan for you.

Seek His wisdom every day.

He will help you through.

Have discipline about spending,

But be generous toward others.

Life is not just about you,

But also your sisters and brothers.

Live one day at a time,

And enjoy what God has given.

Life is a great adventure,

Toward an eternity in heaven.

Treasures stored up in heaven,

Are things of the best kind.

It’s things like peace and joy,

To help ease another’s mind.

Words are more important,

Than any money you could give,

So be generous to one another.

It is the Christian way to live.

Matthew 6:19-21

19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

1Timothy 6:6-10

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Living a life of contentment has to do with balance. Being satisfied with life is a decision that each of us can make. A poor person can be just as content as a rich person. A poor person can learn to enjoy the “heart-things” in life. Learn to smile at a sunny day and enjoy the feeling of the sun on your skin. Watch for the miracles in nature as Spring brings the earth alive after a dreary winter. Listen for the sounds of a cooing baby and find the peace that their peace can bring. A rich person can also enjoy those same things and find more pleasure in that than the things they can buy from the store. Learn to be generous with your time and your assets. Give love and love will return to you. Thank God for everything that you have been given by Him and use those assets to give God the glory.
