Blessed Because of Him

I am blessed because of Jesus.

I am blessed because of Him.

He became my sacrifice.

He erased my trespasses and sin.

I did not do a thing for His grace.

There is nothing I could do.

He did it all for me.

He did it for you too.

The Old Testament gave us laws,

For us to obtain God’s grace.

No one could obey totally,

So Jesus love took its place.

We do not deserve God’s favor,

But He gives us grace by His love.

Jesus came to show us His Father,

And brought forgiveness from above.

Jesus opened the way for us.

He made all things new.

He gave us His Spirit,

So there’s nothing we can’t do.

We can fight the battles in life.

He gave us His Word.

We can face the adversary,

As we walk through this world.

We did not earn His love.

He gave it freely to you and me.

We have the promise of heaven,

To surround us in eternity.

The future is bright.

We have all we’ll ever need.

Jesus finished the awful task.

He completed the greatest deed.

He laid down His life,

So that all of us could live.

We need to accept Him as Savior,

And love and learn to forgive.

Deuteronomy 28:1

1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

2And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

3Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field……13And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:14And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Galatians 3:10-14

10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

11But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

12And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

14That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

This is a comparison of the Old Testament and the New Testament. The law required our obedience. Man failed in their obedience starting in the Garden of Eden and continued to live in disobedience. Satan was too powerful for them to overcome by themselves. The New Covenant gave us God’s love without conditions, except that we believe in all that Jesus did for us and that we accept His Holy sacrifice to get rid of the sins we commit. We have been blessed through Jesus obedience and we continue to receive God’s grace (unmerited favor) because of His sacrifice. We could never do enough to be worthy of the favor of God, but because of Jesus, we have been brought back to God’s favor. God can see His Son in us as His Holy Spirit dwells within our soul when we invite Jesus into our lives. Live in the law of love and forgiveness and do it because you love God.
