Right Now

What you ask for right now,

May not be the best for you.

Patience is hard to obtain.

Looking back, the time just flew.

Right now, you want love.

Right now you want wealth.

Right now you want security.

Right now you want health.

You get discouraged on the path,

That has been set before you to go.

You forget to thank God for it all.

You want to reap what you sow.

You get impatient to see the end.

The waiting seems so slow.

You lose sight of your goal,

And don’t know which way to go.

Your body shows your disgust,

At where you are stuck in life.

You  want to move out of the mess,

And get rid of the turmoil and strife.

Life can cause you much pain,

Unless you “give it to God” above.

He will fix your situation in His time,

Because of His mercy and love.

You need to trust in God,

And all of His ways,

To find some peace in life,

And direction for all of your days.

Praise while you wait.

Don’t get upset on the way.

He will take you through the night,

As you face a brand new day.

James 5:7-11

7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

We live in a society of instant gratification. We go to the store and buy things on credit, because we feel we need to have the object right now while it is on sale. When the credit card bill comes in, we can look back and see that it might not have been wise to raise a bill in life that will just cause us discomfort in the end. If we would have waited, we might have found more peace in a lower bill at the end of the month. We feel that “things” fill a void in our lives. We need to learn to fill that void with God, instead of stuff. We will find more comfort in His Word than we will in physical stuff.  We need to look to God where our true joy comes from and be satisfied with the day set before us looking for the positive instead of the negative. Others are watching to see how Christians react to their situations in life, because we brag about God and all He has done. When they see our impatience, they wonder about the depth of our faith in God’s love and mercy.
