Take the Time

Take the time today,

To find a peace for your life,

Letting go of drama,

Releasing causes of strife.

Focus on the good things,

Letting go of what is sour.

Live each day to the fullest,

But learn to relax some each hour.

Don’t focus on the drama,

That others bring to your life.

Don’t carry those burdens,

That weaken the soul and cause strife.

Let go and let God,

Is a phrase that can help you.

Let go of things you cannot change,

And let God do what He will do.

Breathe deep and smell the roses,

Take in what please the mind.

Don’t be in such a hurry,

Take the time to unwind.

Listen to the music,

That nature can bring to your ears.

Listen for the silence,

That will lengthen your years.

Bring silence to the troubles,

That try to flood your mind.

Exercise your body,

To help you unwind.

Take time to enjoy,

All that God has given.

Be thankful for His gifts,

As you are on your path to heaven.

This world can offer nothing,

Compared to His love and grace.

Focus on what is important.

As you seek His comforting face.

TRW 6-15-17

Ephesians 5:15-19

15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

There is an old phrase that says “running around like a chicken with its head cut off”. In our busy lives, we can find ourselves doing just this; being very busy, when it is not going to accomplish anything. It is better to sit back and relax some to refresh your spirit. You will be better prepared to help someone when you are not totally consumed with a head full of troubles. There are some people that will trouble you with problems that they have no intention to change. They are wasting your time as well as theirs. This is where drama exists. It is complaining about life, but not trying to change anything that is wrong. It is easy to get involved in another’s drama. Drama usually involves fear and anger. The person does not come to you to ask for prayer for peace in their life. They do not ask for a scripture they can cling to while they are walking through stuff. They are dumping their frustration onto you, for you to help carry the load. That is like carrying a load of bricks up one hill, just to dump them on the other side. It is wasted effort. You have accomplished nothing. It is better to recognize that this is a problem that you cannot change. You can pray for that friend, but don’t take on that unnecessary load. Take time to enjoy life and do meaningful work. Ask God to help you figure out a problem, but don’t waste your time on drama. Take care of yourself, so that you may be able to help another along life’s way.
