Take Off Your Grave-cloths
Jesus weeps at our unbelief.
He is still the Son of God above.
Take off your grave-cloths.
Believe in His total love.
Trust that He can do more,
Than others can possibly do.
Know that He is the Almighty,
And He will help you through.
He can take you through the trial.
He will help resolve your pain.
God’s plans for you are good.
His plans are for your gain.
Things do not look good on earth.
Is there really any resolve?
Our problems are not ours alone.
Some problems we cannot solve.
Just trust God for the results,
Even if it is not what you have in mind.
Know that our God is all-loving.
He is gracious and He is kind.
Just believe in His sovereignty.
Believe that He knows what is best.
Be still and know He is God.
He will work, while we rest.
We must rest in the assurance,
That God is still on the throne.
He will never leave you.
You are not walking this alone.
Satan causes so much havoc.
He will bring you to tears.
Let God fight the battles.
Give Him all your fears.
Only believe in His goodness,
That good is expected in the end.
Believe He knows your future.
He is always your closest friend.
22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. ……25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: ….. 33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,…… 35 Jesus wept.
36 Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!……40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
43And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
44And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
45Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.
These verses have so many messages in them. First, it showed that even Jesus closest friends did not fully comprehend all that God could do. They thought that Jesus was too late to help them through their trouble. I always thought that the statement “Jesus wept”, showed how much Jesus loved His friend and that death even hurt Him emotionally. Others say that Jesus wept because of their unbelief. He would never be too late for anything. I also wonder if the grave cloths represent our limitations of our belief. We are bound by our human experience and abilities. If we step out of the grave cloths of unbelief, we can do all that Jesus told us we could do. His Holy Spirit lives within us. We are the only one that holds back what God wants to do through us. We need to take off the grave cloths of doubt. We need to peel off the layers of un-belief , so that we can live a life that God planned for us.
