Enjoy the Journey

Every tree starts with a seed,

But it takes time to grow.

When His Spirit is planted,

We have so much more to know.

Growth takes alot of time.

It takes sunshine and rain.

We will have some good times,

But we will also have some rain.

Rain isn’t always a storm,

Filled with thunder and lightning.

It doesn’t always cause damage.

It doesn’t have to be frightening.

If you sit on the porch covering,

You can watch and smell the rain.

It can cause a cleansing,

Instead of causing pain.

This journey with Christ,

Takes watering and light.

The reward will come,

As the darkness becomes bright.

There is strength in the waiting.

What you’ve learned will be deep.

It will not be forgotten,

It is the seed that you will keep.

Don’t give up on the growth.

It will also come in time.

God is the author of it all.

His ways are perfect and sublime.

The seed that was planted,

Just needs time to grow.

Enjoy the journey with God.

Let Him reap, what the Spirit sowed.

1 Corinthians 3:6-7

6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

Many times in the scripture, seed, planting, watering and growth are used as an example of our journey with God. We can understand that the seed of faith is like the plant. It can be planted, but if it is not watered and fed, it will not grow. Different seeds develop at different speeds. Different seeds require different climates and watering. Some require shade and some require sunshine. Some can survive in droughts and some will wither up and die without regular watering. Some plants that get started inside the house will get spindly and not survive as they require more even sunshine to strengthen their trunk. Sometimes sheltering a seed is not best for that seed. Sometimes they have to get used to the elements of life to be strong enough to survive the storms.

As we plant a seed of our belief into another, we have to wait for God to give the increase. We cannot force it. Without God in the middle of the journey, the seed will not go anywhere. Just wait and see what God can do with that small seed. Be willing to supply the water when needed,

But don’t try to force the growth. The seed cannot be strong without God’s help.

Draw Strength

Draw Strength

Draw strength from His presence.

Draw courage from His love.

Feel His grace and covering,

Flowing down from above.

Be assured of His power.

Feel His presence today.

Know you can do all things,

Through Him as you pray.

Be encouraged for tomorrow,

When today seems like too much.

He is the strength in your step,

When you feel you need a crutch.

He is the courage in your fear.

He is the light in your dark.

He is the goal that you reach for,

When you felt you missed your mark.

You thought you knew where to go.

You thought you knew what to do,

But you found yourself lost again,

And failing to follow through.

You thought you understood His plan,

As life was flowing along,

But you lost your direction,

And things were going so wrong.

He did not close the door,

But had a different path for you.

You just have to hold on,

And let His Spirit guide you through.

Let Him be your strength.

Let Him be your light.

Allow Him to take what’s wrong,

And make it come out all right.

Wait with patience and peace,

Knowing He will open the way,

To calm all your fears,

And lighten your way.

Isaiah 25:4

For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

Psalms 73:28

But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.

2 Samuel 22:33

God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

Psalms 59:9

Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defense.

Many times in life we feel weak and confused, and we have to turn to our ultimate power which is the Spirit of God who lives in us. Although He is with us always, we still need to call on His Name for strength and for consilience in our times of confusion. He can put all things together to make them work for our good. So many times we do not even know what is best for us, because we are thinking of gratification of the flesh (what feels good). We do not really know what God wants of us, except that it will help others along the way. We may have to go blindly along this life, calling on God’s strength, power and wisdom to be with us as we make the best choice we can with our human mind, praying that it is in harmony with God’s plan. I worked in health care taking care of the elderly for many years and I would catch myself asking God what he wanted me to do. On one such occasion, it was like He said: “Duh?” What more did I want in life but to take care of the sick and comfort their families as well as give example and comfort to the many employees that I was in charge of. I had to laugh at myself, after God opened the door to a career of giving and serving others. I finally realized He had given me a vocation, not just a job. I felt blessed that my purpose was made clear. Most people do not get that clear of an answer. Now in retirement, I am not sure what He wants me to do, except  to teach, to write, and to share, so that is what I am doing, until He calls me to do something else.

Mercy is given.

Mercy is free.

It comes from God,

And should flow through me.

Mercy sees what we did,

And knows the why too.

Mercy flows from God,

To both me and you.

God has such patience.

He understands our ways.

He is willing to forgive,

Each and every day.

We may not understand,

How God can love and forgive.

Jesus overcame death,

So that each of us could live.

His mercy endures forever,

For those who seek Him.

With Him, there are no losers.

With His mercy, we will win.

He can overcome our heartaches.

He can cover our fears.

He will rejoice when we are happy,

And wipe away our tears.

Enjoy each day you are given.

Bask in God’s grace.

Then give mercy to another,

As God’s love flows from your face.

What comes to us from God,

Should flow through us too.

He will supply the person,

For your mercy to go to..

Mercy is meant to be shared.

It should not stay still.

As you receive God’s mercy,

You should do His will.

 Lamentations 3:22-25

22 It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

1 Corinthians 1: 2-4

2 Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

To be a Christian, we are to do as Jesus did. He brought us the “good news” or the New Testament of love. He demonstrated every day how to be merciful to believers and unbelievers alike. When God shows us mercy and forgiveness, we should be willing to do the same to another. We gladly accept this free gift from God and should realize this precious gift from the Creator of the Universe. He did not spare His mercy to sinners. He gave His only Son, to be the perfect sacrifice to forgive all of our sins. His blood can cover every sin of every man, but a person must seek forgiveness and accept this free gift from God. If you do not believe in His Son, you do not accept this gift of continual mercy.  To deny the existence of this sacrifice is to accept the punishment of eternity in hell. All of mankind has sinned against God and deserves punishment, but God sent the perfect Lamb to return us to righteousness and allow us to eternity in heaven. His mercy endureth forever.

I am obsessed in life,

With my Savior up above.

I want more of Him each day.

I want to experience His love.

I will work harder,

To find the truth in life.

I will walk in His joy,

And leave behind the strife.

I can’t just be average,

When it comes to God above.

I will eat and breathe the Word.

I will be a fountain of His love.

I will think of Him each day,

And rest with Him at night.

I know and trust my God,

To make all the wrongs, right.

I will eat and drink,

The goodness of the Lord.

I will choose my weapons.

I will use His Holy Word.

I cannot get enough of,

His mercy and His grace.

With Him I can do it all.

I can finish this race.

I choose this obsession.

I want more of the same.

My journey toward heaven,

Is not just another game.

I am obsessed in life,

With my Savior up above.

I want more of Him each day.

I want to bask in His perfect love.

1 John 4:17-18

17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

2 Corinthians 13:11

11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

All people have a need to feel loved, so it is only natural to seek perfect love. There is only One who can offer perfect love, because our God is love. Our God is perfect. It is only right that a person should try to find out more and more about the one they love. It is equally natural for a person to try to find out about the Love of God. It is above human comprehension, but it does not stop our desire to seek this perfect love. We want to know what total truth is about. We want to experience total peace. All of that is offered to us by our Father and Creator. To be obsessed over this relationship does allow us to live a good life, because He teaches us to love one another and to take time for one another, so it is an obsession that works out for everybody.

A Winner

A Winner

When I fall down,

In this race we call life,

I find my way back up,

In the midst of turmoil and strife.

My Coach and my Leader,

Is there by my side.

I will complete my race.

I will not turn back or hide.

My eyes will stay focused,

On heaven which is my home.

I cannot take time to wander.

I cannot take a chance and roam.

The side road seems so easy,

But is not one I want to take.

It is the way to danger and distress.

And will lead to a heart ache.

I will not be discouraged,

By the tricks of Satan and sin.

I am a child of the most high King,

And I am meant to win.

I may stumble in life,

And I may even fall,

But my Coach will protect me,

And raise up a mighty wall.

The wall will block Satan,

As I call on Jesus Name.

I will win in the end.

This is an eternity game.

I’m a winner and not a loser.

I will be a saint, not a sinner.

I will follow the path of righteousness.

I will be called a winner.

2 Corinthians 2:11

Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Satan uses all kinds of tactics to get us to fall and fail. He uses our anger against our brother, to be a vice between us. He knows that God is love and if he can divide the love of brothers, then he thinks he has won. He uses jealousy to divide man. He uses religious denominations to divide Christians. He uses illnesses to break our spirit and our ability to care for ourselves. He uses our own brains against ourselves to think less of ourselves than we ought. If he can get us to be depressed over where we are in life, he will use everything in his power to emphasize our worthlessness and then offer us a false promise of peace or of feeling good. He uses drug addiction to destroy the core of the family. Many times we will face these things in our life and we feel as if we want to give up. It is then, we need to realize that God has not left us and if we call on Him, He will help us through the battle with Satan. Satan is not fighting us, but is defying God, so the battle is not ours, but God’s and HE WILL WIN through Jesus Christ, our Savior, our Coach and our dearest Friend.

The Easy Button

The Easy Button

We want the “Easy Button”.

We want things done right now.

We may need to wait a while,

To be changed inside somehow.

Being “Saved” is the “Easy Button”.

It happens in an instant in time.

Old things are now gone,

And new things are made fine.

God is a God of process.

His timing is perfect each day.

He will provide the means.

He will open the right way.

We need to be willing to wait.

We need to learn to be still.

It is a process of learning,

How to understand God’s will.

All the saints had to learn.

They faced trials along the way.

They had to learn and grow,

And be willing to stay.

To believe in God’s mercy,

To recognize God’s grace,

There is no “Easy Button”,

To complete our earthly race.

A diamond takes fire.

It starts out fairly rough.

It is beauty under pressure.

It stays even when it gets tough.

We may need more time,

To have an attitude of change.

Talk to God every day.

As He takes the time to re-arrange.

His yoke is easy.

His burden is light.

We must be a willing vessel,

To do what is right.

Hunger and thirst for righteousness.

His Peace is worth the wait,

To see our heavenly Father,

As we go through heaven’s gate.

TRW 7-09-17

Matthew 5:6

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Being a Christian is not an “easy” fix. Being saved happens quickly, but having a deep faith takes endurance and time. We are sometimes tested in the fire of life and become stronger as we survive each trial. We find that while we were being tested, that we were not alone. The Holy Spirit was there to guide us and to keep us from falling victim to Satan’s lies. Satan tries to discourage Christians, and even taunt them about their faith. With each trial that we make it through, we become stronger and have a deeper conviction about God’s presence in our lives.

Stay at Rest

Stay at Rest

Don’t feed on negativity.

Keep your mind at rest.

Take in some good things,

To come out more refreshed.

If you choose to be in turmoil,

There are plenty of places to go.

Satan loves to mess up your mind,

And toss you to and fro.

Some people live in turmoil,

But don’t let them dump on you.

It is a false responsibility,

To take on their drama too.

Protect your inner peace.

Don’t let it be taken away,

By others who bombard you,

With their problems each day.

Let go and let God.

Be quiet and be still,

While God works out the problem.

Believe that He can and will.

Listen with Christian kindness,

But don’t take their burdens in.

To believe that you can change things,

Is arrogance and can lead to sin.

Give it to God in prayer,

And then go away in peace.

Jesus took away such things,

So you must give turmoil release.

Choose happiness over sadness.

Choose calm over tears.

Choose faith in God over turmoil.

Let Him cover all your fears.

TRW 7-08-17

Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

We live in a world of drama, but we need to make a choice of whether we want to live in that drama, or if we purposefully let it go and choose peace. We may have friends who drain our peace, by dumping their problems on us. They cause a burden to our minds. We need to remember that God can take care of all things. Stay focused on how great God is and not on the problems that we hear about every day. When the disciples were in a big storm and thought they were going to drown, Jesus woke up and said to the sea to be still and then he went back to sleep. He was right there with Him and yet they feared. Jesus is with us every day. He said He will never leave or forsake us, so His is all we need. If we have friends who have needs, give those needs to God and then let them go. Keep your peace, rather than to dwell on things you cannot change.

Refreshed Earth

Refreshed Earth

The Father made this world.

It was perfect in every way.

Then sin entered in,

With corruption and decay.

Everything about it,

Was cursed in one day,

Until our Jesus came,

And opened up the way.

He brought back righteousness,

To refresh our wretched soul.

He gave us a new Spirit,

To keep us free and whole.

He gave us the courage.

He refreshed our hope.

He gave us the willpower,

To help us find a way to cope.

Courage in the fire,

Calmness in the flame,

As we walk through wickedness,

We wait for a heaven to gain.

The time will be coming,

When the earth is refreshed too.

Heaven will join the earth,

When all things will be made new.

A fresh river will flow,

From heaven to the earth.

There will be no more death,

And no pain with new births.

Perfection will be seen,

As it was in the beginning.

Satan will not have rule,

No more loss only winning.

No more disappointments,

No more looking for God above.

He will close and personal.

As heaven and earth are one in love.

John 14:1-7

1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Revelations 22:1-5

1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

4And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

What will the earth be like after God remakes it? It will be paradise that can never be spoiled again by sin. Sin is what caused the curse which brought pain and death to paradise. Death is the hardest thing for man to experience. To bury a loved one, brings so much pain to our hearts. When this earth is destroyed and is re-made to become part of heaven, there will be no more death and corruption. There will be no more anger, pain, turmoil or deceit. God is love, peace, and truth. Satan is hate, destruction, and deceit. Satan will be destroyed forever, and can never again attack our weaknesses. He will never again lead our children astray. He will be cast into eternal damnation and the curse will follow him. Our souls have been purified by the death of  Jesus, if we accept Him as our Savior. The earth will be purified by God and made perfect again with Jesus as our Lord, Savior and King.

Fighting Back the Tears

Fighting Back the Tears

Fighting back the tears,

Blocking the worries in life.

Looking for my joy.

Avoiding dissension and strife.

Keeping my head up,

Instead of looking down.

Choosing to wear a smile,

To erase the sad frown.

Making life better,

In my corner of the world.

Trusting in my Savior,

Focusing on His Word.

I have an adversary,

Who wants to control my life.

His path leads to destruction,

To more worry and strife.

I will stop his progression,

With some words of my own.

Ï am a child of the King,

My Father sits on the throne.

His plans for me are for good.

He loves my heart and soul.

He is the source of my completeness.

In Him I am well and whole.

So as havoc surrounds my world,

And drama creeps into my life,

I will continue to be a good mother,

And a faithful loving wife.

This is the world I was given,

So I will take care of it.

I will not give into evil.

I am not a person to quit.

I will look up to heaven.

I will praise my God above.

I will feel His strength in my soul,

And the protection of His love.

Matthew 12:35

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

I am a very positive person by nature, but fear is a part of a person’s desire to please. Since I have lived most of my life now, I can be an observer of life. When I look back at my life, even with a strong relationship with God, I struggled with fear: fear of doing something wrong or not doing something right. I was in the health care field as the Director of Nursing service for 22 years and then Administrator  (or CEO) for the next 21 years of a skilled nursing facility. I felt the need to be a peacemaker and to try to get people to do the best they can in their circumstances. I feel I succeeded, but I was driven by fear. It is in setting high standards for myself, that I feared failure. I try real hard not to get into the “what ifs” in the big world, because my little world holds enough of those, so I try to make a difference in one life at a time for a moment. That will keep my positive lifestyle going on and on. God helps me through all of my problems and I choose to lean on Him for my future as well. I praise Him in the good times and reach for Him in my times of trouble. He talks of  “Fear” 365 times in the Bible, which tells me that we have to face fears every day. Stay strong, as you fight depression and you face fear, and keep looking up. “Fear Not”, for God is with you.
